GTA 6 Rumors Revealed
There are a lot of things that could make GTA 6 awesome. Some of the more exciting rumors include heists, romance options, and a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired story.
A new leak suggests that the game will be set in Florida, with representations of cities like Miami and Tampa. The map also has other smaller locations, including strip malls and forests.
Map and Locations
A big part of GTA fans’ excitement for the franchise’s upcoming sequel is the prospect of returning to a familiar setting. Despite Rockstar Games keeping the specifics of where the game takes place secret, last year’s substantial leak and this year’s trailer give players plenty to get excited about.
The trailer teased an expansive map that shows off the state of Leonida. Taking inspiration from real-life Florida, the fictional Leonida is home to a city called Vice City and the spooky swamps where the flamingos and alligators roam.
A dedicated community has been going through the leaked footage and trailers, analyzing landmarks, in-game coordinates, seen locations, and more to create their rendition of the GTA 6 map. The resulting maps show Port Gellhorn, LO Prison, Redhill, Grassrivers, Yorktown, and many other cities and towns. They also include the rumored location of InterGlobal Studios, the heart of Vice City’s film industry and a hub for wild satire that pokes fun at everything from moon landing conspiracies to political blackmail.
Characters
While Rockstar hasn’t spilled the beans on GTA 6’s main characters, it is believed that the game will feature a playable female and male lead. Lucia is rumored to be the game’s female protagonist, and she will be joined by an apparent romantic partner known as Jason in a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired duo.
Both Lucia and Jason will be able to drive vehicles, and they will also reportedly have their weapons and gear. The pair will allegedly work together during heist missions, and players may be able to control both of them at the same time using a character-switching system.
Actor Troy Baker (Batman: Arkham Origins Joker and The Last of Us Joel) is reportedly playing Jason in GTA 6. Alexandra Echavarri, who voiced the character Lupe in GTA Online, has been rumored to play Lucia in the main game.
Vehicles
The trailer doesn’t show a whole lot of significant gameplay features, but it does emphasize the various cars, trucks, planes, and boats that players will be able to control. There’s also a fleet of police vehicles seen driving around, likely based on the Ford Crown Victoria and the Ford Police Interceptor Utility.
A few notable vehicles spotted in the trailer are new to the GTA series, including a green Ignius hypercar and a high-performance coupe that seems to be based on a Porsche 911. The Comet has been a regular in the series’ HD universe since GTA IV and the new version looks to bring it up-to-date with a design inspired by the 997 GT2.
Other notable cars spotted are a red supercar based on the Ferrari California and a blue sports car that looks like a Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray. EVs seem to be making a comeback as well, with a fictional electric car manufacturer called Coil appearing.
Story
Considering the massive success of GTA 5 – which has earned Rockstar hundreds of millions in revenue and is considered one of the best games ever made – fans have been patiently waiting for the next entry to arrive. Some believe the delay is due to Rockstar’s focus on GTA Online, which receives frequent updates and is believed to make hundreds of millions in revenue each year.
In 2022, more than 90 videos of an in-development GTA 6 were leaked on the message board GTAForums and featured open-world driving, robberies, police chase, a crowded nightclub scene, and conversations with full-voice acting. The videos showed Lucia and an unnamed male protagonist working together, presumably in a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired story.
Other rumors suggest the game will take place in modern-day Vice City. This is partially backed up by leaked gameplay, which shows Jason entering a Vice City Metro train. It is also backed up by reports that suggest the game will feature more interior locations than previous entries in the franchise. In addition, the gameplay from the leaked videos shows that various aspects of the game have been improved over its predecessors. For example, the protagonists move with more fluency and a natural gait.
